Vin Scully, the voice of the Dodgers since before the Eisenhower administration, is retiring this year. His final game will come October 2 in San Francisco.

To celebrate Scully’s indelible imprint on the history of the game, here’s a full-game broadcast of NBC’s Game of The Week from May 3, 1986. The game features the Milwaukee Brewers hosting the California Angels.

In this game you’ll see many of the great stars of the 1980s and several future Hall of Famers, including Rod Carew, Reggie Jackson, Paul Molitor, and Robin Yount. There’s a very humorous incident where Reggie struggles in the on-deck circle to get the donut off the bat of teammate Dick Schofield. Players on both benches have a lot of fun with Reggie over it. Go to the 15:45 mark to see it.

Click and enjoy. There were none better than Vin Scully.
