Joe Bush

Joe Bush

On August 25, 1916, Bush started the second game of a doubleheader against Cleveland. The Indians got to him early, scoring five runs in three innings before Connie Mack removed Bullet Joe. The next day, seeing as his pitcher had worked a short stint the day before, Mack started Bush again against the Indians. That afternoon, Bush pitched a no-hitter, striking out seven batters as the A's beat Cleveland 5-0.
