When 17-year old Bob Feller arrived on the scene in the major leagues in 1936 he was a sight to see. He threw a baseball harder than most big league batters had ever seen. His windup was long, but very refined and purposeful. Every movement helped the Iowa farm boy throw the ball 100 miles per hour.
Here’s a vintage movie reel showing Feller’s delivery.
