Terry Francona

Terry Francona Francona was hitting .321 with the Montreal Expos in 1982 when he suffered a freak injury that ended his promising rookie season. As he was tracking a flyball hit deep to left, Francona's spikes got caught on a loose section of turf on the warning track and he hurt his knee. Francona had performed so well that the Expos had moved Tim Raines from left to center field to make room for him. Francona was hitting second in the Montreal lineup for manager Jim Fanning.
