Tony Phillips

Tony Phillips Only three players drew as many as 1,000 walks in the 1990s,  two of them were sluggers (Barry Bonds and Mark McGwire) and the other was little leadoff man Tony Phillips, a pest who could play six positions on the diamond and often did. There have only been four players in baseball history (in the All-Star Game era) who have collected 2,000 hits and never been an All-Star: Juan Pierre (2,217 hits), Orlando Cabrera (2,055), Tony Phillips (2,023), and Todd Zeile (2,004).
