Gene Tenace

Gene Tenace A forgotten ballplayer from the 1970s who in many ways personified the Oakland A's Mustache Gang. Tenace was a gritty player with skills that lay under the radar: he drew walks and hit for extra-base power while carrying a low batting average. In Moneyball-speak, Tenace was Scott Hatteberg but a lot better. He delivered a lot of clutch hits for the A's during their five-year run in the playoffs from 1971-1975.
