VIDEO: Introductions before Game One of the ’81 World Series, DiMaggio throws first pitch

There’s so much to enjoy about this video from ABC Sports’ broadcast of Game One of the 1981 World Series on October 20, 1981 from Yankee Stadium. There’s the network programming message that includes clips from Happy Days and Laverne & Shirley, then there’s the introductions of both teams, including glimpses of Reggie Jackson, Steve Garvey, Hall of Famer Bob Lemon, Ron Guidry, Oscar Gamble (and his hair), a very happy Aurelio Rodriguez (in his only Fall Classic), and many more. Then, Pearl Bailey sings the National Anthem and legend Joe DiMaggio comes out to the mound to toss the ceremonial first pitch. How many times do you get to see the Yankee Clipper?

Just a great video from more than 30 years ago.
