When he was 21 years old, after only two starts in the big leagues, Warren Spahn enlisted in the U.S. Army to serve his country in World War II. He spent close to four years in the Army, and he had several harrowing experiences.

In this video, the Hall of Fame pitcher discusses a few incidents from his career as a soldier.
