The Winter Meetings for Major League Baseball take place in the first full week of December. Officials from all 30 MLB teams meet in a location, typically Arizona or Florida, and conduct league business.
Often, the first significant trades of the offseason are made or announced at the Winter Meetings. The winter trading period starts following the completion of the World Series in late October or early November.
Teams conduct league business and meet to discuss changes to rules and procedures while attending the Winter Meetings.
The Baseball Hall of Fame gathers its voting body for special committees at the MLB Winter Meetings. Any candidates elected by the “eras” committees are announced at this time.
The MLB Winter Meetings also host a jobs fair where teams and the league can find employees for positions that are open.
