There are many ways to rank pitchers and compare them. It’s a subjective practice, for sure. But we’ve been successful creating Top 100 lists of baseball players at every position.
According to our ratings, the top pitcher all-time is Walter Johnson. The Hall of Famer won more than 400 games in a remarkable career where he completed more than 70 percent of his starts. He led the Washington Senators to the World Series title in 1924.
Other great pitchers ranked among the greatest in baseball history are Pedro Martinez, Tom Seaver, Lefty Grove, Bob Feller, Randy Johnson, and Greg Maddux.
