Freddy Leach had a peculiar habit in the outfield: when he was in left field, he would position himself so he was facing the center fielder and point his toes in that direction. As a result, he had to turn his head and peer over his right shoulder to see home plate. Freddy felt it gave him an edge at going back on the baseball. He hit .300 six times, but was most famous for being traded straight-up for Lefty O’Doul.
