Casey Stengel

Casey Stengel hit the first World Series home run at Yankee Stadium. It came on October 10, 1923, in Game One of the Series between Stengel's New York Giants and the Yankees. The hit was quite dramatic: it was an inside-the-park home run in the top of the ninth inning off Bullet Joe Bush and it broke a 4-4 tie. The Giants won the game, 5-4, but lost the Series. It was the Yankees first World Series title.
