Hal Trosky is certainly the most unknown of these slugging stars from baseball’s Great Depression Era. He’s the only player on this list who did not help his team to a postseason appearance during the 1930s. The Indians usually finished about 15-20 games back in the standings during Trosky’s career, except in 1940 when they came in only one game back of the Detroit Tigers. Those were the infamous “Cry Baby Indians.”
