Ted Williams was one of the greatest hitters in baseball history. But he isn’t known for his managerial career. Can any man ask to be legendary twice? No, Ted was a so-so manager, at best. In four seasons as a manager, his teams won about 43 percent of the time.

This interview was conducted from the dugout at new Arlington Stadium in Texas at the start of the 1972 season. Williams discusses the ballpark, his team, and the slugging of big Frank Howard.
